You know the kind of place you drive past 20 times and are always curious what it’s like inside? Well, let me show you!

Morley Cedar Canoes is a quiet, tucked-away national treasure. Hidden in the folds of a very special valley, Steve Morley has been keeping his family tradition of making the most incredible cedar boats and paddles. He stands on the shoulders of his parents, and they have now been in business for over 5 decades. Needless to say, Steve is a master woodworker and boat builder. His demeanor is exact and well-considered; however, super laid-back...huh, kind of like his boats. He is quick to share one of his incredible stories and easily keeps your attention.

Opening the door to the workspace is like a warm cedar hug. Hanging from rafters and tucked into corners is evidence of the lineage that exists in such a place. Newspaper articles and homemade arrows catch your eye. Steve works with a fluidity that makes sense, and the vessels that come from his hands have an unusual radiance. The kind of boat that you really want to touch, but should probably ask permission first. The kind of boat that is light, well-balanced, and will last for generations. Let's take a minute to celebrate what a well-built canoe means for this world…thanks, Steve!
